This was an important song to us because it defined the musical direction we wanted to go in for the album. After recording our EP “Burn Out The Sky”, we jammed a lot of different potential songs but nothing was clicking. Once Joe introduced this idea to the band, it developed very quickly. The foundation of the song was very simple revolving around the same two chords being played over and over but with different variations and voicings, it was hard to stop playing it when I wrote the riff, I was hooked. Although, it was what the rest of the band had layered on top that truly made the rest of song, capturing the atmospheric and musicianship qualities we enjoyed in our instrumentals but with memorable and melodic vocal lines that we had in our more straight forward rock songs. We had the opportunity to record this song with our good friend Mike Evola, and it came out amazing, but since we wanted to include on the album and were recording with Kenny we re-recorded it to fit with the rest of the material. We are very happy with both recordings, while they are the same at their core, little things were added and taken out of the new recording to give the version its own character.
